Reasons not to wait until 2007 to buy this year's ISA

Many investors wait until the end of the tax year before they decide how to use their Individual Savings Account (ISA) allowance. However, there is a good argument that investing at the start of the tax year also has its advantages.

One scenario is that, in the run-up to 5 April every year, a wall of money is invested into equities as people hurry to use their ISA allowance before the end of the tax year. The problem with this is that investors can rush into things without taking the necessary independent advice and end up in unsuitable funds.

Another consideration is that, if you wait until the end of the tax year to invest, you could miss out on the chance of a year’s growth.
